Excellent opportunity for a Test Manager to join a highly successful investment banking organization on a 12 month contract. Leading a small team, the role will involve the low level management of the development and testing team, to enhance, support and maintain the group of bank applications implemented using Java (J2EE, JBOSS), Powerbuilder and advanced SQL Server.
You will also co-ordinate the overall resource management for the IS Team (both contract and permanent staff) to fulfill overall demand for the business.
You will Liaise with BA, Developers, Testers, Datawarehouse and the infrastructure team to ensure that any proposed solutions are technically sound. Agreeing clients priorities, planning releases and ensuring the delivery of business requirements.
You will proactively generate and implement test strategy for the software development test phases. Review technical and functional documentation to aid the identification of test cases. Carry out system and integration testing of new release applications. Work closely with the development in diagnosis and solution of bugs raised. Support users during User acceptance Testing phase. Create and maintain Standard Regression Test Pack.

Essential skills: experience of release management in a fast moving environment with continuous change, experience of management and hands on testing throughout the software development life cycle using structured methodologies to test multiple applications with differing functionality.

Desirable skills: Knowledge of Rational toolset (ClearQuest, Test Manager and Robot) and the RUP process

The successful candidate will have a proven background in coordinating complex UAT phases and must have exceptional SQL querying skills.
